Hatfield Gatherings
“Keeping the Spirit of the Summer Camps
Alive through the Winter Season”
Join Jeremy, Tony, Julie, Janie, Liz and lots of others ... bring friends. Come and join us ... enjoy sharing, talking, exploring together at one of our weekends of learning, music, dancing and celebration ... by warm fires in undulating countryside in this old Herefordshire country house which sleeps 36 when absolutely full. Inspiring views across the hills to Wales. Children welcome, creche by arrangement. Trips to local sacred sites by arrangement. Money contributions (negotiable) vary, but this time are free or ‘magic hat’, including heat, accommodation and vegetarian food. Large workshop rooms with comfortable carpets and a good dancing floor. Weekends begin about six on Friday nights, and end about six on Sundays, but do stay on over Sunday night if you prefer. We can also arrange conventional B&B in nearby farmhouses or a holiday cottage if you prefer.
We provide pillows, mattresses and some blankets, but if possible bring your own sleeping bag. We have about nine bedrooms altogether, so you can choose one of our friendly dormitories, or it’s usually possible to get a room to yourself if you prefer. We also have some conventional bedding. Bring warm clothes and gumboots, since this is the country.
There are also wild lawns for camping and hard standing for cars and living vehicles. In fine weather many events take place outside. Our camp fire circle has spectacular views of Hay Bluff.
We don’t seek to make money from our conference centre. It is provided as a labour of love.
How to get here:
Trains run from Paddington via Newport (about 3½ hours). We can meet trains or buses at Hereford or Leominster, by arrangement.
By car, take the Leominster-Worcester road (A44). From Leominster: it’s 3rd left after the roundabout (by a bungalow, signposted Hatfield/ Puddleston). Then 2nd right and after a mile or so you’ll see Hatfield Court on your left. A sign may say ‘Fairview Caravan Park’. Down the beech lined drive and take the first left. From Worcester: a few miles after Bromyard, past the second pub on the right. After that, 2nd right (by a bungalow, signposted Hatfield/Puddleston) and then as above.
